A glimpse into the very ordinary but also very magical journey of a home schooling family in Tasmania's lovely Huon Valley. Mummy Snow, Daddy Snow and the three Snowflakes take a relaxed, eclectic, secular, seasonal approach to learning, with influence from the neo-classical, Steiner, and unschooling styles.

Alfalfa Chef
We made an amazing discovery in the shop last week: alfalfa seeds. It's probably one of those things that's totally obvious to everyone else on the planet, but I had never seen alfalfa seeds or thought of sprouting them. Since a decent sized packet of seeds cost less than a tub of less-than-fresh sprouts, and since sprouts are one of a limited number of nutritious foods that everyone in the family likes, we decided to try growing them. It was a resounding success, with the whole batch eaten within seconds after this picture was taken, and not by the Lego chap either!
