The last week or two has seen us learning in all kinds of ways, with no particular theme that I could discern. It's seemed weirdly busy, given that we are not rushing to get organised for Back to School this week like most families are. Here are just a few things we did.

Snowflake #1 went to a school holiday session entitled "Outstanding Owls".

Daddy Snow introduced the snowflakes to archery. #1 took to it straight away, shooting ambidextrously,

while #2 had trouble until Daddy Snow remembered that she's left-handed.

We had 11 new babies; this one is Sammy.

We went to Lonnie for a few days to attend their Aunty and Uncle's wedding and spend time with their cousins.

We visited QVMAG Inveresk to see an exhibition on snakes (that's a 2m python they're wearing).

We did some gardening and harvested the silver-beet.

We excavated the gemology kit:

here are the stones we found and identified.

You have been busy! I thought I saw your little man (and big man) at the outstanding owls adventure! We were there too but I wasnt 100% sure If your hubby would remember me, having only met once :) We also did the reptile adventure which was great snake education for this season. Evey looooves those geology digging kits too, they are great, actually I think I may enjoy them as much as she does!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to QVMAG Is - we were thinking we'd stop in Launceston on the way to the boat next week, and the 'Eaten Alive' exhibition looks right up K's alley! Is the snake exhibit permanent - i couldn't find a link to it?
ReplyDeleteThe snakes were only there for that day unfortunately. But I think Eaten Alive is there for a while, and the Phenomana Factory is permanent, as is the dinosaur room. Apparently there's an art gallery there as well, but we've been four times and never made it that far lol
ReplyDeleteAh well - enough snakes in our lives anyway, without the museum! Eaten Alive goes till 27th, so we'll make that one - looks awesome!
